Statue of Aeneas

Acanius, Aeneas and Anchises This picture is taken from wall paintings on a house facade in Pompeii. It is believed that this is what the statue of Aeneas must have looked like in the Forum of Augustus.  To the left of the picture is Ascanius, Aeneas' son, and Anchises, Aeneas' father is being carried by Aeneas. (see Zanker, 1998)
